Last week Madison County approved $1.36 million to be distributed to Elwood and Alexandria.
Elwood will be given $1 million for a robotics-training program at Hinds Career Center. The center is partnering with Purdue Polytechnic Institute and two other universities to create their curriculum.
Elwood Mayor Todd Jones told Indiana Economic Digest, “Developing a workforce is critical to Madison County and Indiana,” adding “We want to offer a skilled, trained and talented workforce for the high-tech manufacturing jobs of the future.”
And the future is exactly where Madison County is headed. The reaming amount of $360,000, pending approval, will go to future infrastructure improvements to the water system for Alexandria.
Alexandria’s Mayor Ron Richardson said, “Madison County economy is starting to grow.” While economic development director for Alexandria, Warren Brown, said, “We want to stabilize the city’s water supply and have enough room for future growth.”
Madison County is has been and continues to show they are excited and welcome the growth of the county, and it’s cities, providing a great atmosphere for real estate development and opportunities.
