When it comes to 5G wireless, Indiana is one of the few states that is leading the way.
5G wireless relies on numerous backpack-sized devices, and these devices can be attached to buildings, stoplights, street signs, and standalone poles, according to Indiana Economic Digest, and it is considerably faster than 4G.
Indiana’s law passed in 2017, limited local control over the placements of the wireless 5G antennas, and The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), is using Indiana’s law to model national proposed rule when deploying the high-speed technology.
Brendan Carr, FCC Commissioner said, “When it comes to wireless, Indiana is the future.” telling Indiana Economic Digest, adding “And that’s because of this state’s innovative leadership.”
U.S. Senator Todd Young, R-Ind. said, “High-speed connectivity drives jobs, it drives incomes, it leads to higher education levels, better healthcare outcomes and higher rates of economic growth.”
